Our Sweet Shelby....

Our hearts are aching today. Our sweet doggie, Shelby has gone to Heaven before us. She had gotten out and gotten down the road a bit. Tim had been outside along with his mom and sister looking for her. Its hard to find a dark colored dog in the dark. Unfortunatly, Shelby heard Tim calling for her and ran into the road....and was hit.
We were and are still just hurting. It felt as though I had lost one of my own children. But we know that Heavenly Father has a plan and that we will be will our sweet sweet girl again. She will be waiting for us. And she is up in Heaven will alot of loving family members who are there to take care of her for us..just for awhile.
Tim was so amazingly strong for the kids and I last night. He did all he could to comfort us. He was so strong and took the kids outside to let them say goodbye (she didnt have a scratch on her). And he was so caring the way he made sure she was put to rest. Broke my heart to see him outside in the bitter cold trying his hardest to break the frozen ground up (our kids wanted her to be buried here at home). He finally was able to get a spot dug for her...wrapped her up in a blanket and laid her to rest on her little blue bed.
I am so grateful to have the gospel in our lives and to know that our sweet puppy is just on the other side of the veil. Although we are aching here, that knowledge helps us get through such a sad loss.

Well that is just really sad. It is so hard to lose an animal that is so close to your heart. I hope the kids are doing okay with it. I will be thinking of you all.

Oh Beccka!! I'm so sad for you. That has to be hard. I hope you all can cheer back up quickly. Pets can be sch a part of the family & it truly is a loss when things like that happen. I send my love!
